Not content with delivering another record-breaking annual sales result and securing a third-place finish as Australia’s best-selling Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) brand in 2025, GWM now takes its next decisive step in growth and technology leadership with the launch of its fifth PHEV model, the all-new Tank 300 Hi4-T.

Due to arrive at Australian showrooms in March 2026 (with the Ultra grade first, followed by Lux approximately one month later), the Tank 300 Hi4-T is now available with a limited-time special launch offer from just $55,990 Driveaway for the Lux grade and $59,990 for the fully loaded Ultra.

With award-winning Hi4 and Hi4-T PHEV technology at the heart of the GWM SUV range, the brand’s commitment to offering best-in-class powertrain options for Australian buyers has never been stronger.

With petrol, diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains available across the broader GWM range, the brand delivers an unmatched breadth of technology in the Australian market, ensuring drivers have access to performance, efficiency, capability and features tailored to their lifestyle, whether tackling daily commutes or demanding off-road adventures.

Electrification without compromise

The beating heart of the Tank 300 Hi4-T is GWM’s Hybrid Intelligent 4WD Technology (Hi4-T), purpose-engineered for real-world off-road performance. This proven powertrain pairs a high-efficiency turbo-petrol engine with a dedicated electric motor and advanced 4×4 hardware, delivering 300 kW of power and 750 Nm of torque. Drivers benefit from exceptional low-speed torque, extended electric-only range, and uncompromised mechanical 4×4 capability, through a transfer case and locking differentials, all while significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Flexibility and capability come together in the Tank 300 Hi4-T, combining electrification with rugged durability. The vehicle features fast-charging capability, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, and multiple terrain-specific drive modes, allowing drivers to tackle diverse conditions with confidence.

Proven off-road credentials

Since its debut, the Tank 300 has earned a loyal following among off-road enthusiasts for its robustness, versatility, and authentic 4×4 performance. In 2025, the brand introduced the 2.4-litre turbo-diesel option which delivered even greater sales success.

The Tank 300 Hi4-T PHEV builds on this customer-focused strategy, delivering an electrified yet mechanically uncompromised 4×4 vehicle that customers can trust to deliver on the smoothest of highways or the roughest of off-road climbs.
