How does a GWM Self Charging Hybrid Work?

Dual Power Sources

A self charging hybrid vehicle operates using both a traditional internal combustion engine and an electric motor. The electric motor derives its power from a battery, which is charged automatically through the processes of regenerative braking and directly by the combustion engine. This dual system allows the vehicle to achieve better fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

Energy Regeneration

When the vehicle slows down or brakes, kinetic energy that would otherwise be lost as heat is converted into electrical energy. This energy is then stored in the vehicle's battery for later use. This process, known as regenerative braking, enables the battery to be recharged whilst on the move, eliminating the need for plugging into an external power source.

Seamless Transition

The hybrid system is designed to seamlessly transition between or combine the power of the internal combustion engine and the electric motor. It intelligently uses the electric motor for low-speed driving to maximise efficiency while the engine is engaged for higher speeds or when additional power is required. This results in an optimised balance of performance and economy.
