The 15.6-inch touchscreen is the command centre, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so your maps, music and calls are ready when you climb in. The European-designed cabin gives you room to settle in for a long haul, and the Ultra adds heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats for the days that start before sunrise. Reversing a trailer down a boat ramp or sliding into a tight car park, the Ultra’s 360-degree camera shows the full picture around the ute.
The Cannon Hi4-T PHEV is a genuine 4x4 ute and it looks the part. With 200mm of ground clearance and 700mm of wading depth, creek crossings and corrugated tracks are part of the plan. Black 18-inch alloys fill the guards, and the Ultra adds a tailgate step and red brake calipers. Out the back, 220V outlets in the tub put V2L (vehicle-to-load) to work, so tools and camp gear run straight off the ute’s battery.
A 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine and electric motor combine for 310kW and 750Nm. Drive up to 115km on electric-only driving range (NEDC)^, and up to 1,037km combined on a single tank^. With a low-range transfer case and 3,500kg braked towing, it’s ready when the weekend calls. Both grades share the same Hi4-T powertrain, so the choice comes down to how much comfort and tech you want along for the ride.
